Jay is a photojournalist based in Bowling Green, KY. In his sophomore year, Jay is studying photojournalism and criminology at Western Kentucky University. Jay plans to graduate in May 2025.

Jay started his college career studying for a bachelors in criminology and psychology, but in the spring of 2022, something changed. Having never picked up a camera before in his life, Jay decided to take the plunge and switch to a bachelor's degree in photojournalism, keeping his criminology degree. This change came to be because of a Mobile Media Storytelling class he took at Western Kentucky University, also in spring 2022. 

Working with lighting equipment - among other things - and a multitude of clients with different backgrounds, Jay plans to use the pictures and other visual media he creates to help people. The community aspect of coming up with an idea and turning that idea into a product is Jay’s favorite part of the process.

When not taking photos, Jay enjoys his downtime with different activities such as skateboarding, roller skating, traveling, listening to music, reading, and hanging out with friends.
